Welcome to my site. I’m Adam.
I decided to put this together to document my RV-10 build and to keep track of flying info. If you’re here, you may be a pilot, builder, or maybe someone that’s casually interested in aviation.
What to expect on this site:
- Kit build: Chronological log of RV-10 progress
- Flying: Sharing occasional experiences (new airports, new aircraft, $100 burgers, etc)
- CFI: As of March 2026, I’m currently an advanced ground instructor and planning on a CFI checkride. This page will go live afterwards and will include helpful resources from the FAA, EAA/AOPA, or elsewhere.
- Product recs: A collection of flying and building products that I actually use and recommend. Might include affiliate links, might not, but I’ll genuinely believe in anything listed. The goal is to help fellow pilots and builders cut through the noise.
FAQ:
Why did you start flying?
I grew up going to EAA Oshkosh and I took a discovery flight back in 2011, but I always viewed aviation as out of reach. Riding motorcycles was more affordable and a ton of fun until I had a big accident in June 2017. Lots of people told me not to ride again. Though I never really agreed, I thought it would be good to pursue alternate hobbies. So I started PPL training in February 2018 and I’ve been flying regularly ever since.
Why build an airplane?
1) Because I can’t sit still and I’ve been dreaming about it since I started flying.
2) Because my family is growing and I need a more serious traveling machine to carry around my beautiful wife and toddler. I bought a Citabria 7GCAA in 2019 that has been wonderful, but it only has 2 seats, it’s not particularly fast, and it cannot fly through clouds.
Aren’t experimentals dangerous?
Experimentals and light-sports are the future of general aviation. While accident rates in experimentals are still slightly higher than certified aircraft, I think that gap will continue to narrow over time. Experimental aircraft also benefit from the latest technology well in advance of the certified world. Finally, it’s much more affordable than going certified- pilots can own and fly a safe, modern experimental aircraft often for less than a 1970’s Cessna.
What’s your professional background?
I studied business (finance, economics, and strategy focus) and sustainability. Since graduating from business school in 2016, I have worked in the mobility innovation space with experience developing products at an automotive tier 1, launching a new office at a startup accelerator, leading an OEM’s innovation lab, and I’m currently working in the advanced air mobility space.
